Fascia and Soffit Repair Services

Our team of experts can help with fascia and soffit damage

Fascia boards are the backbone for a strong gutter system, if you are not familiar, fascia boards are the vertical board that sits behind the gutter that gutters are often mounted to. Often with gutter repairs, there is damage to the fascia board and if left unchecked, the soffit will also experience damage. "Soffit" is the horizontal board that sits behind the fascia and often times has holes in it to allow venting to attic spaces.

Fascia boards can become damaged for a variety of reasons:

  • Inadequate fastening
  • Poorly draining gutters that have excessive weight, causing the gutter to pull at the fascia
  • Storm/snow damage
  • Rot
  • Poor roofing installation

Signs of fascia damage

Sagging Gutters
The most common sign that homeowners in North Carolina will notice that something isn't right is when their gutters start to sag. When this happens, the gutter will have a noticeable dip, start to tilt forward away from the house, or even see exposed areas of the roof/eaves of the house

Wood Rot
The edge of roof surfaces see a lot of water and when the fascia board is exposed to that excess water, it is very prone to rot. If the fascia isn't repaired in a timely manner, the fascia can rot and cause the gutter to come crashing down. This can cause further damage to the home and injury to anyone underneath the gutter

Soffit Damage
Soffit or "eaves" sit underneath fascia and gutters and we've seen situations where the fascia has pulled away from the roof far enough to allow water to fall behind the fascia and collect behind the soffit. Often times areas where there are gutters, the soffit is vented and can allow the water to drain out, but this is not at all ideal. Like the fascia, soffit can rot when exposed to excessive water, leading to a wider range of issues and can even allow for small critters and pests to enter the home. Often times we will see staining or soffit panels start to separate from the home if there is soffit damage.
